Pu'u Wa'awa'a Run
In October of 2007, Na Kahumoku participated in the annual Pu'u Wa'awa'a run for the dryland forest. Pu'u Wa'awa'a is Hawaiian for "furrowed hill". It is one of our favored service sites. It is actually a very large volcano vent that is now becoming covered with Koa forest and other natives - thanks to the hard work of Mike Donoho, Department of Land and Natural Resources and the volunteer community. Its a great place to take a hike and get great views of Hualalai, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
