Kahumoku paddling program at Kukio

In 2007-2008 Kukio Community sponsored a paddling and ocean education program for Na Kahumoku. The sparkling bay and pristine sand made at Kukio made an inviting setting for any activity - not to mention that the program was coached by an international leader of the paddling scene, Thiebert Lussiea. The attention that the students recieved not only from Thiebert but from his crew of lifeguards and assistants was stellar! The increase in self-efficacy and self esteem from working with this crew of nurturing men was highly evident in the students. This was a prime example of how nature connectedness fosters success in young people.
